A mobile work table gives a commercial kitchen a full stainless steel prep surface that can move with the workflow. I build each unit to suit restaurants, hotels, caterers, bakeries and institutional kitchens across Pakistan, with lockable castors, a braced frame and storage options selected around the space and daily use.

A mobile work table is a stainless steel preparation table mounted on swivel castors so staff can reposition it between prep, plating and service areas, then lock it in place for work. It is especially useful where the kitchen layout changes during the day, where cleaning access matters, or where banquet and catering setups need temporary workstations.
I build the table around the required length, depth, frame and storage arrangement rather than treating mobility as an add-on. The castor mounting, frame bracing and weld alignment matter because a wheeled table must remain steady after repeated movement. Depending on the kitchen, I can include an undershelf, handle or drawer while keeping the working surface practical to clean.
Choose the configuration around where the table will move, what sits on it and how much aisle clearance you have. A shorter unit suits narrow prep lanes; a longer top gives more staging space but needs a wider turning path.
An undershelf keeps trays and containers off the floor, while a handle gives staff a defined push point. For wall-side work, a work table with backsplash is usually the better fit; for fixed storage below, a prep table with undershelf may be simpler. I quote stainless grade, thickness, size and finish against the actual use rather than forcing one standard specification on every kitchen.
The table feels unstable after it is moved when the frame, wheel mounts or brakes are not suited to the working load. I use a braced tube frame and fit swivel castors with brakes so the unit can be positioned, locked and used as a proper preparation surface instead of behaving like a light trolley.
Large castors roll more easily over joints, small floor changes and busy kitchen surfaces than tiny wheels. The catalogue options use 100–125 mm swivel castors, with two brakes. I size the mounting and frame around the chosen wheel arrangement so repeated movement does not concentrate stress at weak leg connections.
A mobile table becomes awkward when its length or depth blocks staff movement or cannot turn through the intended route. I build within practical options from 900–1800 mm long and 600–750 mm deep, or to measured dimensions, so the worktop matches the available prep area and circulation path.
Cleaning behind fixed benches often means reaching into narrow gaps or leaving dirt around legs. A wheeled table can be released and moved so the floor and wall line are accessible. After cleaning, the brakes hold it in its working position, which is useful in kitchens that need frequent layout changes.
I start from your required working position, route and dimensions. The length, depth, height and optional shelf or drawer are set before cutting so the finished unit fits both the task and the space it must move through.
I cut and prepare the stainless sheet and tube, then form the top and supporting parts to the drawing. The frame is braced to control flex before the wheel fittings are added.
I TIG-weld the stainless joints, grind visible weld marks and finish the surface in the selected satin or brushed grain. Smooth joint finishing matters where hands, utensils and cleaning cloths regularly pass.
The castors, brakes, handle and storage options are assembled and checked for alignment. I test the movement and brake engagement, then inspect the table for rocking before it leaves the workshop.
I have worked hands-on with stainless steel kitchen equipment as a welder, polisher, fabricator and installation supervisor. That background matters on a mobile table because small fabrication errors show up quickly as rocking, poor wheel alignment or rough welds.
I check the relationship between the top, frame and castor positions instead of treating each part separately. My workshop is near Asia Cargo Saggian in Lahore, and my experience includes 14 years in the UAE and 3 years in Pakistan across more than 1000 projects. I also repair damaged mobile tables, including frame and weld problems, when replacement is not the sensible option.
Send me the length, depth and height you need, plus whether you want an undershelf, handle or drawer. I can review the layout and quote a made-to-size mobile table for your kitchen.
